Absolutely amazing Love how it captures the brutal nature of the character in his eyes and stance. The use of colors makes the entire artwork mysterious and deadly. Kudos just wish I could hang this on my wall. Shame it's not a print lol.
It can be... the more you do it, the easier it becomes (obviously ). Sometimes I'll get lazy and just softly erase the lines instead of painting over them. But I only do it if it doesn't drastically affect the penciller's vision. And really when you think about it, the crosshatching is just a way to essentially get a midtone... if you pick a color that is a midtone, there shouldn't be a problem.
The piece I'm currently working on is giving me a couple issues because it's actually inked. And I've realized that I prefer painting over just pencils because you can gloss over soft gray much easier than pitch black!
Thank you! That's generally what I try to do with my colors. My method seems to revolve around a dominate color that I choose in the beginning to "set the mood" and then I choose my supporting colors based off that initial decision. So far, it hasn't failed me
